Is it legal to travel to Cuba?

WHAT LICENSES DO YOU TYPICALLY TRAVEL UNDER?

By staying at privately owned accommodations, dining at privately owned restaurants, interacting with local entrepreneurs, and maintaining a schedule of meaningful interactions with the Cuban people our programs satisfy the requirements for the general license of support for the Cuban people.  

However, if you are interested in traveling under any of the other 12 categories we can arrange the needed activities to satisfy the requirements.

My (spouse, partner, friend, travel buddy, etc) is not a photographer but wants to tag along. Can they come?

So long as they participate in the full itinerary, yes. Due to the legalities of traveling to Cuba for educational purposes we cannot accomodate thoses who will not partake in the complete itinerary. US rules do not allow a group to provide a blaket license exception to all individuals, nor does an entire group get a license exception just because one or more of the group have it. If you would like to do an educational trip to Cuba that does not focus around photography, contact us.

  

Can I bring my Drone/Quadcopter/etc?

Unfortunately not. The use of camera drones are highly restricted in

 

IS CUBA SAFE?

Cuba is one of the safest countries in the world to visit. The presence of police officers is noticeable around te city, especially in tourist areas. However, we'd still recommend to use common sense when wandering around the streets. Also our staff is prepared to assist you should any incident happened.

 

WHAT IF I GET SICK OR INJURED DURING MY TRIP? 

Our staff is prepared to assist our clients at any point of the trip should any injury or sickness occured.

 

CAN I USE US DOLLARS IN CUBA?   

No you can't. The currency to use in Cuba is their Convertible Pesos (CUC). You will be able to exchange money at the airport, at any hotel lobby, or at stand alone exchange houses (CADECA). You don't need to exchange all your money at once. You may exchange as you go, since there will be plenty of opportunities throughout the program.
